Funded in 2019, VOLTA Dance Studio has been providing high-quality dance education to the local community. Over the years, we have grown into a thriving dance studio with a strong reputation for excellence in dance training.
Our faculty is made up of highly trained and experienced dance professionals who are dedicated to helping our students achieve their goals. Our instructors bring a diverse range of dance styles and teaching methods to our studio, creating a unique and dynamic learning environment.
We offer a wide range of programs for dancers of all ages and levels, from recreational classes to pre-professional training. Our programs are designed to provide our students with a comprehensive dance education, including technique, artistry, and performance skills.
Magdalena Gawronski-Mietus is a highly experienced and qualified dance instructor in both Latin and Standard styles. She has many dance competitions under her belt.
She achieved International Class in competitions in Poland in both styles with partners Tomasz Rachwalski and Piotr Kiszka. She won the Vice-Champion and Champion tities of the Podkarpacki Region in Poland multiple times. Madgalena began her adventure in the world of dance over 30 years ago under the watchful eye of Mrs. Mariola Felska - a distinguished choreographer of ballroom dance with certifications as International Judge and Trainer. In the following Madgalena honed her skills and expanded her dance horizons by training with Polish Champions and coaches: Monika and Roman Pawelec from Radom, Poland (Latin dances), and Aleksandra Niewinska and Krzysztof Kulig from Olsztyn, Poland (Standard dances) as well as World and European Champions. Between 2011 and 2014, Madgalena was an instructor in Rhythm Dance Studio in New Britain and participated in many competitions in Connecticut and New York. In 2018 she became a Ballroom Dance Instructor for Garage Dance Studio. Since 2019' owner and dance instructor of VOLTA Dance Studio.
Chanel Gawronski is a High School student. She started dancing lessons from the age of 4. Her mother, the owner of Volta Dance Studio, has been her dance instructor for 10 years. She studied styles: Ballroom - Latino and smooth, Lyrical, Contemporary and Hip Hop. She has been teaching dance to children and teenagers for two years. The distinction is the achievement by Chanel - her group of children Junior from Hip Hop Judge Awards -National and qualifications for the National Dance Challenge. - solo children took 8,4,3 places in the Finale of the National Dance Challenge in Ocean City, MD. With their group Grande Volta for "Fireball" they won the Recreational small group 1st place in the National Dance Challenge (July 7th, 2023 in Ocean City, MD ).
She is very nice and has a great contact with children and teenagers. Chanel loves the fashion world, originality and beautifully reflects emotions in dance.
Amelia Powalka is a High School student. She started dancing with Magdalena Gawronski-Mietus when she was five years old and since then have gained a passion for dance. Besides dance, Amelia enjoys playing sports, shopping, and volunteering at a local Polish school, where she interacts with a lot with kids. With her dance group, she won first place in 2023 Nationals for the recreational small group division. Over the course of the past year, Amelia has worked with two groups of kids, one group being a lyrical/contemporary group of 6-9yrs, who got to performed at the Polish festival. Another group was a Disney group with 3-4yrs who learned basic dance steps. Most of all, Amelia deeply enjoys working with kids and teaching them the fun behind dance!
Victoria Jacek is a freshman at Connecticut State Central University. She has been dancing for about 10 years and 8 of those years she has been dancing with Magdalena Gawronski-Mietus. she did ballet, tap, jazz, lyric and ballroom. Victoria also did gymnastics for about 5 years, which gives her the opportunity to teach children how to incorporate flexibility into dance. She has taught children aged 4-10 and conducted classes with 3 dance groups. On July 7th, 2023 she won first place and in Dance off in Small Recreational Group with my group "Grande Volta" - "Fireball" in Ocean City, MD and became National Champion 2023' Elite Dance Challenge.
Olivia Dybinski's passion for dance comes through in her work as a dance instructor, a role she has embraced since 2020. She began dancing at the age of three, training in various styles including ballet, lyrical, tap, jazz, contemporary, and acro. Her dedication led her to join UConn’s ballet company, where she danced throughout her four years at the university. Some of her most memorable experiences include performing in a Disney World parade and playing the Sugar Plum Fairy in her university's Nutcracker production.
In 2023, Olivia graduated from UConn with a double major and now works as a Data Analyst. Despite her analytical career, she remains deeply committed to teaching at Volta, where she works with students of all ages. Olivia incorporates a strong ballet foundation in her classes, aiming to help her students develop technical skills while also encouraging them to explore their creativity and enjoy movement in various dance styles.
